L.A. red light cameras may double: good, bad?

February 9, 2010

Los Angeles red light cameras may double. L.A drivers are in a hurry to stop for the red lights. Currently 32 red light cameras are posted around the city. The fine for running a red light intersections is $446dollars. All of the cameras combined about $400,000 a month. Most people think they are just trying to make more money. Its good for safety reasons, reduces accidents. Some council members are waiting for data from law enforcement to see if the cameras have reduced accidents. It won’t happen until next year eventhough red light cameras program expand. Hope its for safety and to reduce accidents rather than making more money.

‘Avatar’ tops box office for sixth-straight week

February 5, 2010

“Avatar” tops box office for sixth-straight weeks. James Cameron’s “Avatar” is on a course to sink “Titanic” at the box office. It is so close to the box office record, “Avatar” could pass “Titanic”. “Avatar” is likely hurting the business of other films. The film puts about $6million behind the domestic record by Cameron’s “Titanic” in 1998 with $600.0 million.

I watched Avatar in 3D version, the film itself was amazing from the beginning to the end. Creative imaginations worked overtime to populate Planet Pandora. The action is non-stop, it was a long movie but so entertaining that the time seemed to fly by. It was one of the best movie I’ve ever seen.
